The DZone Effect
Early this week I got hit with the “DZone Effect” where my traffic jumped up about 5 times more than normal because my 5 Elements of Style For Error Messages article became slightly popular there. I hadn’t really heard much about that site before but it’s like Digg for software developers. Since I’ve been using it this week I’ve found a lot of great blog articles that I wouldn’t have seen before.
I added a DZone icon 
to the social bookmarking bar at the bottom of each post this week as well.

Right now I don’t automate the sidebar most popular articles ‘widget’, I’m entering manually on a weekly basis. I tried a WordPress plug-in that was supposed to automate this but it didn’t seem to work well for some reason. If you have any suggestions in this area, let me know.

This week I hit the milestone of 100 articles on this site (not counting the old VB6 archive).

Coming Up Next Week
During next week I’m planning on writing some tutorials on working with XML in VB.NET along with some more on the generic classes and delegation since people I’ve heard from have really appreciated these articles. Will my long suffering Code Walk-Through article ever get done? I don’t know. I’ve also got a few other works-in-process on the team leadership and project management side that may get done depending on how inspired I get.
