I may be going out on a limb, but your Programming language doesn't make or break you. Here's the point: the more languages and tools you know the more successful you'll be in your career. You don't want to be a dismal failure. I think that you'll easily find a great Programming Languages that jacks into your VB knowledge. This can be one of the easiest ways to get Visual Studio and you also have your C++ experience to fall back on. We should always try to improve upon Programming Languages.
